Trail to the Sale

 

For the June Sale several consigners will be riding and driving their horses over 200 miles to reach their final destination, Sherburn, Minnesota by Friday, June 6th where we will be hosting a meal and a Mounted Shooting Demonstration with 2006 National Champion, Paul Cain.

 

People from across Iowa and Minnesota will be joining the cowboys and cowgirls along the way. Anyone is welcome to join them at any point along the way. We will be updating our website to let everyone know their location each day. If you would like to know an exact location or where to meet them, you can call 507-764-4025 and we can get specific times and dates where they will be traveling.

 

Leaving Clarinda, IA they will be traveling up Hwy 71 until reaching Auburn where they will head East to N28 and proceed North.

 

Monday, May 26, 2008: The Trail to the Sale began in Clarinda, Iowa. At 9:30 a.m. the riders departed, by 4:30 p.m. they had reached Morton Mills, IA.

 

Tuesday, May 27th: Traveling up Hwy 71 and departing from Lyman, IA they are hoping to make it to I-80 by this evening.

Wednesday, May 28th:  After a cold days ride starting in Audobon the cowboys made is all the way to Sac City before calling it a night

Thursday, May 29th:  With the cold weather and occasional down pour of rain the group is waiting for the rain to stop at the Fairgrounds in Sac City, IA hoping to get a few more miles in today

Saturday, May 31st: Starting in Laurens and traveling up N28 the group made it all the way to Estherville traveling over 40 miles in one day. Everyone had a beautiful day of riding and met many people along the way. We were greeted by the Estherville newspaper and were grateful for the opportunity to keep the horses at the fairgrounds that evening.

Sunday, June 1st: Leaving Estherville with a few new riders they made the home stretch traveling up Hwy 4.  Everyone made it to the I-90 Expo Center Sunday afternoon.
